How to connect speakers without a plug to a computer

When connecting old-style speakers, a problem arises in the absence of a suitable connector on the speakers. Usually, a modern mini Jack 3.5 plug is used to connect to a PC. In older audio systems, such a plug may not be. In this case, the user has to use an adapter. • Second end twin cable need solder to the contacts of the mini jack plug.

The the port can be of two types: two-pin or three-pin. They differ in the signals that enter the input of the plugs.

  • In the three-pin connector, two contacts serve as a signal transmission for the left and right channels, and the third for the microphone.
  • In older speakers, there is no microphone, so a two-pin plug is required for proper operation.

The cable of the left and right channel should be soldered to the corresponding contacts on the connector. After this, the place of soldering should be isolated.

ATTENTION! All work should be carried out with the device turned off! Otherwise, a short circuit may occur that will damage the speakers.
