OSB tile on the floor - expert advice

ATTENTION: The fundamental requirement is the correct preparation of the base, taking into account the features of the OSB board.

• The distance between the logs should be 40-60 cm, depending on the thickness of the plate. The underfloor space must have good ventilation.
• Use a plate with a thickness of 15-25 mm.
• If a raw material with fractional cutting is used in the material and the area of ​​the room is large, before laying the tiles, it is better to make the flooring from GVL sheets, a cement-bonded particleboard or moisture-proof drywall. In a small room there is no need for additional flooring. But the surface of the OSB board must be treated with coarse sandpaper to enhance adhesion.
• The adhesion coefficient between coatings and moisture protection will provide effective primers. It is recommended to use a moisture resistant plate.
• After a primer it is possible to cover with varnishes or paints. All these measures are designed to reduce the water absorption of the plates, which, with increasing humidity, increase their volume and reduce physical strength.
• Another option: reinforced metal mesh is laid on top of the treated plate. In this case, the tile is laid using adhesive mixtures used during installation in standard conditions.
• The easiest way is to lay directly on the stove. It is necessary to use only special adhesive mixtures designed for laying tiles on a wooden base.
