How to hang a monitor on a wall

There are many brackets for mounting monitors on a vertical wall. They are all different in design, in the method of fastening, in reliability, and in the possibility of use for working with certain devices. But there is one strict requirement - the connectors of the monitors should be either on the end parts, or in a place where they are accessible after strengthening. Otherwise, it simply will not be able to use, or the features of the fastening should be such that this issue does not arise.

Industry in different countries produces three main types of monitor bracket. This list includes:

  • hard mount;
  • inclined mount;
  • swivel mechanism.

They all work in different ways, the choice is large enough so that any monitor can be placed on the wall. So far, the most popular model of brackets is Vesa.

How to suspend a computer monitor correctly?

When mounting brackets and placing the monitor close to the wall, several important factors should be considered. The main thing is that all the main connectors and device controls should be accessible. If they are not positioned as they should, a hard mount cannot be used. In this case, the monitor simply cannot be used.

But then the swivel bracket is well suited, which will achieve some degrees of freedom.

REFERENCE! Tilt bracket - a device that allows you to adjust the vertical angle of the monitor. It is convenient to adjust to eye level, and also to avoid glare from lighting or sunlight. Typically, such a device is mounted 10-15 cm from the wall.

The most functional is the swivel bracket. You can customize it yourself with your own hands relative to the user's location. But, as usual, this is at the same time the most expensive solution, hard and inclined options cost much less.

At first glance, the monitor is not too heavy a device, if you attach the bracket well, no accident options are possible. But this deceptive impression, dowels and other fastenings very often simply turn out of the wall, with sad consequences for a glass device that can not stand it. To insure against such a situation, long bolts are used that pass through the wall and are mounted on the opposite side with a plate, then some specific security guarantees will be available.

We must also remember that not all monitors have a device for attaching to any device. Then you need to carefully select a mechanism that, for example, can hold the screen on the sides or above and below.

IMPORTANT! The reliability of mounting the monitor directly is also important. This is one of the weakest points, and often fails under stress. Therefore, when working, you should be especially careful.

It should also be remembered that each bracket has a limitation in weight and size. This must be taken into account when it is planned to purchase one or another mounting mechanism.

How to prepare the monitor for the bracket?

On many models of modern monitors, there are special holes for mounting the bracket. They are located on the back wall in a certain order, and their location should be taken into account when selecting the mounting mechanism. To hang the monitor to a location on the wall, remove or drill plugs from these holes. Work should be done carefully so as not to damage the boards and other important parts of the monitor.

Mounting a computer monitor on a vertical wall requires some experience with a power tool. In this case, you may need an electric drill with a percussion mechanism, a perforator or other more serious gun. They must be equipped with appropriate consumables, for example, a special drill for concrete. The diameter of the latter must be selected taking into account the characteristics of the bracket. It is also necessary to prepare a very small amount of a solution of gypsum or cement in the usual building version in order to wipe traces that remain after punching holes.

So, after the hole is ready, the dowel is inserted into it. The next step is to mount the plate, which all brackets must have. It is screwed to the dowels with screws and self-tapping screws, which are necessarily included in the set of the fastening mechanism. After that, it will remain on the wall to mount the part of the device designed specifically for mounting the monitor.

The next step is to screw the monitor. It is especially important to carefully monitor the strength of the fasteners, identify weaknesses in a timely manner, eliminate them.

After installing the monitor on the wall, you should check the reliability of the mounting from time to time and make adjustments if necessary. In this case, the entire structure will last a long time and will not cause damage to the rather expensive device.
