How to repair a cabinet door if hinges are torn

Very often, when the cabinet breaks, loops break down, and it is difficult to repair them if you do not know the instructions. In this article, you will learn how to easily and quickly fix them.

How to fix torn cabinet doors

It is immediately worth noting that a number of defects can be fixed on their own without problems. For example, frequent situations - creak when opening / closing. Moreover, all the doors creak, regardless of the material. The most unpleasant sounds are made by metal. In this case, the sound is not made by the cabinet, but by the hinges, which is why they need to be repaired. You will need:

  • butter. Special oil for loops is desirable; machine oil is allowed;
  • syringe. There are no special requirements.

However, it is worth considering that there are some cases when replacing a hinge or door is much more profitable.

IMPORTANT FACT. As mentioned above, special loop oil is a more necessary option, as it is sold in special aerosol containers.

The instructions for fixing the door are quite simple. It is only enough to lubricate the loop well, during this process it is advisable to open and close it once or twice so that the oil is better absorbed. However, if you have engine oil, then everything is a little more difficult. Need a syringe. Almost any, including diabetic, will do. All the same actions must be done. Use only a few drops, otherwise the excess will then be at the bottom of the cabinet.

What to do if vomited with loops

It often happens that the loops come off, but you can’t attach them back, because the thread is too large and the screws do not hold.

For repair you will need:

  • 8 mm drill;
  • PVA glue;
  • dowels 88 mm.
  1. At the very beginning, it is necessary to increase the holes for self-tapping screws with an 8 mm drill. Importantly, this is allowed if you use other wood, otherwise use the instructions below. The most important thing is to know the measure, not to drill through. However, it should be borne in mind that the drilling depth must exceed 10 mm.
  2. Take the dowels 8 mm. They need to be hammered into the resulting holes, and before that it is good to grease with glue. Try to score to the end, but be careful, since the dowel pushes the plate from the back without any problems. If by the end you have protruding tips, then cut them.
  3. Insert the screws into the dowels. The resulting design is several times more reliable than the previous one, because the self-tapping screws are perfectly fastened with dowels.

After this, you need to wait a bit until the glue dries and hang the door.
