Common Causes of Stool Breakage

3. The pneumatic cartridge has broken. The pneumatic cartridge is a two-chamber design, inside of which there is air. The design also includes an adjustment lever. When pressed, the valve blocks the passage of air into the chambers. If the gas lift rod does not extend during putting on the valve, then the damage is connected to the piston or seal.

Note! Do not repair plastic parts using glue or a soldering iron. Due to the heavy loads on the paws, the structure may break. Therefore, it makes no sense to try to repair the damaged part. It is best to completely replace the part with a new one made of the same material.

What you need to fix a chair

To begin with, you need to understand what parts a computer chair consists of. It consists of:

1. Crosspiece of five rays. It is made of plastic or iron. The latter material is stronger, but more expensive.
2. Wheels. Like the previous part, they can are made of plastic and metal. All mounts and internal joints are made of iron only. But preference is given to metal wheels, since plastic ones wear out faster.
3. Gas lift. This is the leg of the chair. She is responsible for the elasticity of the stool.
4. Swing mechanisms. With their help, you can deflect the chair along the axis, and return it to its original position. In modern designs, mechanisms with axles that move are mounted. This ensures a smooth swing.
5. Piastra. The part looks like a lever with a metal platform. He changes the height of the chair.
6. Permanent contact. This is the connection between the back and the chair seat. It allows you to change the position of the back.

The set of parts listed above is found in almost all office chairs. And each of these parts can be broken.

It all depends on the type of damage. For example, if a cross is damaged, you need the same material from which the cross is made.

To fix the following tools are needed:

1. Screwdriver.
2. New fasteners (if old ones are broken).
3. Drill and drill (if you need to do new fasteners).
4. Welding machine.

6. If the damage is severe or some parts are broken, you may not be able to remove the gas lift. In such cases, the cylinder, bearings and seals must be removed.

Damage to the swing mechanism

To fasten the mechanism to the seat, use 4 screws. They are twisted with a curly screwdriver. To repair, do the following:

1. Dismantle the item. To do this, we unscrew the fastenings from the seat that hold the mechanisms responsible for the swing.
2. Now you need to knock out the gas lift.

Attention! Attachment mechanisms are made of metal. If the damage is minor and does not require a complete replacement, a welding machine is required for repair. With a complete breakdown, you need to buy a finished part.

You need to choose the right part. At the moment, there are 2 options for the swing mechanism:

2. Chinese

The problem is the size mismatch. If the Chinese 20x20 centimeters, then domestic 20x15.

If you do not want to drill new holes during the replacement process, you can use adapter plates.

The pneumatic cartridge has broken

If the pneumatic cartridge breaks, we will have to replace it. Repair will fail. To begin with the dismantling of the cross from the chair. Disconnect the gas lift. Replace the details.
