DIY induction cooker adapter

To date, induction cookers have become very popular among housewives. The cooking surface of such a technique is powered by electricity, and the cooking process is carried out in special dishes for such stoves. In order to use ordinary dishes, it is necessary to equip the kitchen appliance with an adapter. What is this device, how does it work, and is it possible to do it yourself - the answers to these questions are disclosed in this article.

Induction cookers in the kitchen use cookware with a special coating. Replacing a conventional gas or electric stove with an induction one will require the housewife to take care of changing the cookware.

To avoid such changes, many families began to use an adapter - a universal device in the form of a disk. The main purpose of the adapter is to provide the cooking process in ordinary dishes, the surface of which is not intended for induction cookers (enameled, aluminum pans, pans).

In specialized stores, products of different diameters, quality and production materials are presented. The most common are adapters with a thickness of 3 mm, the disk of which consists of three layers (the middle one is aluminum, and the two outer ones are made of ferromagnetic alloy).

In fact, the adapter is an adapter through which heat from the surface of the stove is transferred to the bottom of the pan, and thus heating is carried out.

Using an adapter is undoubtedly a useful acquisition for the kitchen. The hostess does not need to worry about buying a new set of dishes, spend money, and thus refuse to use the induction cooker. A wide range of devices allows you to cook in dishes of different sizes and surfaces. In stores, there are three types of adapters that differ in size:

  1. Small diameter (15-21 cm). Such a kitchen accessory is suitable for utensils with a bottom diameter of up to 22 cm. The product is made of stainless steel with an aluminum layer, equipped with a handle that will be cold even when the surface of the adapter is heated to the maximum temperature.
  2. Medium (22-24 cm). The surface of the adapter is made of ferromagnetic steel. Disc thickness 3 mm. The accessory is equipped with a removable handle and is suitable for large dishes.
  3. Large size (26 cm). Used for dishes with a large diameter bottom.

The main countries producing adapters are: Italy, Czech Republic, Holland.

IMPORTANT! Proper operation is the key to the integrity of the adapter.

Mistresses should follow a few simple rules:

  • when using a kitchen accessory, do not turn on the stove at full power;
  • the surface of the bottom of the dishes should be flat, not convex;
  • the diameter of the bottom of the dishes should not exceed the size of the disc;
  • the heated adapter can not be held without touching the pan or pan for more than a minute;
  • when the food is ready, the device is removed from the surface of the stove after 10 minutes to cool.

Despite the wide selection, many families use adapters made with their own hands. To do this, you need to be smart, patience and perseverance. In order to make an adapter you need to familiarize yourself with its original appearance. Then take a circle of metal of small thickness. It is best if the material is stainless or ferromagnetic steel. As mentioned above, the adapters are a three-layer drive. The middle layer is made of aluminum. The thickness of each layer should vary between 0.7 - 1.5 mm. The heating and cooling rate of the adapter, and therefore the bottom of the dishes, directly depends on the thickness.

All three layers are interconnected. For ease of use, you can, with quick wits, attach the handle. A home-made adapter, unlike a branded one, can be cooled with the help of running water pressure.

The adapter for the induction furnace is an excellent solution to the issue of saving without damage to the hob. The hostess does not need to worry about acquiring a whole set of new dishes, spending money on a purchase. Independent manufacture of the adapter will also save money, make the cooking process more practical, and the correct use of this device will guarantee the integrity of the stove.
