How to wash ink from the printer with your hands

Today, people use printers not only at work, but also at home. Students and schoolchildren often print term papers and reports on a printer, office workers use this technique every day during the work process. Many people face the fact that when you replace the cartridge in the printer, your fingers get dirty. And such ink stains are difficult to launder.

There are several types of modern printers:

  • inkjet;
  • laser;
  • LED;
  • matrix
  • 3D printers.

Inkjet printers are most often used for printing images and photographs. Dot matrix printers are outdated and rarely used recently.

The most popular are laser and inkjet office equipment. It is the ink used in these printers that causes the appearance of ink spots on the skin and clothing.

The method of removing stains from the surface of the hands depends on the composition of the ink.

The main components of ink:

  • water;
  • coloring pigment or synthetic dye;
  • solvent;
  • corrosion inhibitors;
  • Surfactants (surfactants);
  • polymers;
  • humidifier;
  • preservatives.

If the dye contains a synthetic dye, you can not worry - the ink is washed off with water, since the dye dissolves in water.

If, in the manufacture of ink, a pigment was used, which is microscopic particles penetrating into paper or leather, then such spots are more difficult to remove. As a rule, they can be reduced using alkali.

Assess the degree of contamination of the palms and proceed with action.

IMPORTANT! Do not dry your hands with a napkin or towel. This will lead to deeper penetration of the paint into the layers of the skin.

Method 1:

  1. Prepare a container with water at room temperature, it is better to take a soap with a high alkali content, a brush or pumice.
  2. Wash your hands thoroughly in water, changing it several times to clean. You will see how much ink is washed off your hands.
  3. Soap your hands with a bar of soap and rub the stained area with a brush or pumice stone.
  4. Rinse with warm water.

After the done manipulations on the hands, pale traces of ink may remain.

Method 2:

  1. Take the finished citric acid in a bag. If there is none, you can squeeze the juice of a natural lemon.
  2. Dissolve citric acid in room temperature water.
  3. Moisten a cotton pad in the solution.
  4. Apply to contaminated areas and wait a couple of minutes.
  5. Rinse and evaluate the result.

ATTENTION! Citric acid can be replaced with hydrogen peroxide. From its use, one should expect the same effect.

Method 3:

Try using a body scrub. It contains fine particles that exfoliate dead skin particles, removing the top layer.

If the above methods did not help to cope with the problem, you can try more radical measures.

Method 4:

  1. Take 100% alcohol or white spirit. Acetone is also suitable.
  2. Apply liquid to a cotton pad and wipe fingers.
  3. Wash solvent quickly off hands.

ATTENTION! Use this tool carefully and with caution. Do not leave such aggressive fluids on your skin for long.

In addition to the above tips, it is also recommended to use tomato juice or tincture of badyagi.

Use for cleansing hands of professional compounds

For those who, due to the specifics of their work, are often forced to change cartridges in printers, there are special tools developed by modern manufacturers for removing ink from any surface:

  1. Permatex Lotion "Fast Orange".
  2. Soap "Fast Orange".
  3. Special cleaner from the manufacturer Flexographic "Strong and safe", created specifically for removing stains from printing ink.

If all of the above methods did not bring one hundred percent result, do not worry. After a certain amount of time, the skin of the hands will be renewed, and the spots will disappear without a trace.

To avoid ink contamination of your skin, use disposable rubber gloves when replacing an empty cartridge with a new one.
