How to set up a scanner and make it network
There are several ways to gain access. These include special programs that provide Internet access, connection via wired connection, the use of various additional devices. Each of the options has its advantages and disadvantages. In order for you to be able to decide on the connection method, we will talk about each method in more detail.
IMPORTANT! The fastest connection is via a USB cable, but for some equipment models this option is not suitable.
Installing RemoteScan
If you decide to access the network, first you should try the option with installing a special program. To do this, follow these steps:
- Connect the computer to a power source. Go to your internet browser.
- After that, enter the request to install RemoteScan for Windows.
- Once the download is complete, launch the application and select the language of work in the dialog box that opens. Then click on the "Next" button.
- During the launch, prompts will appear. Follow them and click on the "Next" or "Continue" button. Confirm agreement with the user agreement.
- In the options window, select the server version to be able to pair with another PC.
- At the final stage, check the box that appears and complete the installation process. Everything should work after turning on the system.
IMPORTANT! Install only proven programs from official sites. When downloading, an antivirus must be enabled to protect the system.
Now on your computer there is a special program that provides the necessary equipment on the Internet. All that remains is to turn on the scanner and get to work.
Starting the server version
As described in the installation diagram above, when starting the program, select the server connection path for working with several users on the network at once. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Go to the RemoteScan program and find your equipment in the proposed list of connected equipment.
- Select it as the connected equipment and click on the "OK" button.
- For convenience, remember the device in the program to automatically connect to it when you restart it.
At any time, you can change the working scanner and connect another device. It is enough to change the settings and select another item in the drop-down list.
How to install the client version
If you needed to install the client version of the program, download and install according to the plan described above. Only at the time of the request for the method of the plug-in version, check the box next to Install Client Software. In this case, the browser may additionally request options for connected networks. To ensure the operation of the system, confirm the permission for all used networks and click on the button that says "Next".
IMPORTANT! Sometimes anti-virus systems can block the application. To avoid this, go to the antivirus settings and exclude RemoteScan from the list of scanned files.
How to scan over a network via USB
After successfully connecting and turning on all systems, you can scan. Connect the equipment using the USB cable and select the program by which you will scan. In the absence of the necessary file, you can add additional applications from the Internet that you will use to pair with users on the network.
